As part of my university studies in media production, I was required to produce a short film with a crew. Upon meeting one another, our group selected the script Morning and began by brainstorming a variety of locations, themes, tones, and genres,
as well as discussing our individual roles and responsibilities.

Concept Creation

Throughout this production, my primary role was to capture the film as the cinematographer and edit the footage into a polished final product. To begin this journey, it was essential to develop a strong understanding of the concept and themes for the short film. I worked closely with other crew members to ensure the creative vision was cohesive and aligned with our goals.
On Set

We allocated two full days for production to shoot the short film. This schedule provided ample time to achieve full coverage and allowed flexibility for potential reshoots. Thanks to thorough pre-production planning, our shooting days ran smoothly, ensuring we had plenty of time to focus on the editing process.

Post Production

The post-production phase was an engaging and creative process. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I was able to cut, colour grade, and experiment with the footage captured on set. I also incorporated sound design and refined the dialogue to enhance the overall impact of the short film. This phase allowed me to expand my creative skills and bring the vision of Morning to life.
Overview

The process of creating short films is both engaging and insightful, transforming written words into compelling visuals on screen. This production provided an opportunity to combine my video-making and editing skills with careful planning and collaboration, resulting in a smoothly executed project.
